2017 Austin Trail of Lights

Austin Trail of Lights
Create treasured memories as you enjoy more than 40 displays, 2 million lights, Austin’s famous food trucks, nightly entertainment, holiday activities and more at the 53rd annual Austin Trail of Lights powered by H-E-B.
What began as a small gathering in 1965 known as the "Yule Fest," a gift to the city of Austin from Austin Parks and Recreation Department, the Austin Trail of Lights has now grown to be a community-wide celebration of the spirit and people that make Austin unique.
The event runs from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. nightly December 9-23. Visitors can help the Trail feed the hungry by bringing a can of food to the event. With your support, more than 25,000 meals can be collected for the Central Texas Food Bank. ’Tis the season for giving, after all!
The Trail of Lights Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to continually bringing the spirit of the holidays to the Austin and Central Texas community every year. Adopting the Austin Trail of Lights in 2012, the organization is focused on keeping this annual event an authentically Austin event for years to come by focusing on community engagement and support for the long-term sustainability of Austin’s largest community celebration.
General Admission is free for half of the nights that the event runs. Refer to the 2017 Calendar to see which nights offer free entry and which nights carry a $3 entry fee for attendees 12 and over.
