Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park 2016
Celebrate 46 years of fine art with Art Colony Association as they spotlight over 300 artists during the award-winning annual fine art festival on March 24-26.
Festival patrons will enjoy a vibrant walk through Memorial Park as they take in the sights of artwork from 19 different disciplines and enjoy an array of music, creative zones, beverages and delicious, local foods.
This year’s featured artist is Amanda Bennett, a mixed media artist from New Orleans. Bennett transforms mid-century advertising, acrylic mediums and photography into a mashup on plywood, inspired by pop art and funk style.
Over the past 46 years, the Art Colony Association, producer of the Bayou City Art Festivals in Downtown Houston in the fall and at Memorial Park in the spring, has raised millions of dollars to help support local nonprofit organizations. The Festivals are funded in part by grants from the City of Houston and through Houston Arts Alliance.
Festival hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There is no public parking at Memorial Park, however, a shuttle service will be provided to patrons from Northwest Mall at 9500 Hempstead Highway. A round-trip shuttle ride is $4 per adult and free for children 12 and under.
General admission is $15 per adult and $5 per child (12 and under). Tickets can be purchased here. Military and Senior Discounted Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate.
