HACOC Monthly Meeting
to
Arnaldo Richards' Picos 3601 Kirby Dr, Houston, Texas 77098
Join in on Tuesday, April 19 for HACOC's top-notch networking and education!
This month's meeting will feature a presentation on "Keeping Our Seniors Safe: Identity Theft and Fraud Awareness" given by Officer Chase Liccketto, community outreach officer with Bellaire Police Department who started his law enforcement career in 2015.
While we know to be wary of strangers we meet in public, it can sometimes be difficult to remember that there are just as many people with malicious intent on the internet.
The telltale signs of someone who is dishonest and intends to do us harm can be vastly different online than in person. It's very important to know those signs.
Who really is that person you're communicating with online? Just how discerning are you?
With more and more people going online every day, many criminals have moved away from in-person petty crime and scams and toward online fraud and attacks. Seniors, unfortunately, have become a prime target for many of these scammers.
Officer Lickketto will share his knowledge and experiences on keeping senior citizens safe from predators. Plus, a “bonus bit” on the Coffee with a Cop and Home Safe Bellaire Programs.
This event is $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers.
