Co-hosted by Alzheimer’s Texas and Riverbend Church, the 2020 GPS: A Road Map for Caring for Aging Family Members event welcomed over 170 individuals on Saturday, February 29.
One of the largest events of its type in the Austin area, the 7th Annual Workshop provided caregivers an opportunity to visit with a range of local providers across the care spectrum as well as attend breakout sessions.
The breakout sessions included:
- "Improv'ing Live" - Karen Stobbe and Mondy Carter of North Carolina
- "Family Matters - Critical Conversations Near and Far" - Cyndi Cummings, founder of Austin Senior Resource Alliance
- "The GIFT Project: Giving Instructions for Tomorrow" - Hospice Austin
- "Is Aging in Place an Option? Red Flags and Next Steps" - Carlye Levine, LCSW-S, C-ASWCM, founder of Austin Vitality Counseling
Breakfast and lunch were provided.
The Senior Resource Guide was a proud sponsor of 2020 GPS: A Road Map for Caring for Aging Family Members event and provided free copies of the Guide for attendees.
