The Texas Assisted Living Association (TALA) held their biggest conference to date at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Round Rock on April 19-21, 2022. With an atmosphere full of energy and reconnection, the spring conference celebrated those who "Flourished and Bloomed in Assisted Living."
Many sessions were packed to capacity with attendees eager to hear guest speakers. Particularly notable sessions included Jennifer FitzPatrick's opening keynote, "Refocus, Refresh, Resilience: Flourishing After Two Tense Years," and Ty Jones' closing keynote, "Creating an Environment that Empowers Seniors."
During the event, 12 peer-nominated heroes were recognized at the special Award Ceremony Luncheon for their remarkable work in their assisted living communities.
Following the awards was the highly anticipated tradeshow, which featured the booth decoration contest and popular pitch-off contest. Exhibitors adorned their booths with wildflowers and blooms—so well that there was a tie for the winning spot between Civitas Senior Living and Blue Moon Estates Sales.
For the pitch-off contest, exhibitors had two minutes to make their pitch to the audience and were scored on their performance by a panel of judges. Chris Blakely with Versacor Managed Pest Solutions won the crowd and judges over by donning a mouse costume during his pitch, ultimately landing him the win. To see some of the fun that was captured, check out the Photobooth Gallery.
Industry professionals had a blast and are already anticipating the next TALA Annual Conference and Tradeshow! Save the date for April 5-7, 2023.
The Senior Resource Guide was proud to once again be a sponsor of the TALA Annual Conference and Tradeshow and provided attendees with complimentary copies of the Guide.
